This was the result of a experimental design class held by Frank Phlippin.

The starting point of that class was an ordinary clothes pin.
First we had to analyze it in as many ways at possible. After that we had to develop three concepts for different kind of media out of it. Finally we had to chose our favorite and bring it to life.

Clothes & Pin is about the randomness of compound words and objects in our everyday life. I got from the function of the clothespin that is holding things together to the manner of combining two words to get a new one. I've collected compound words and drew the objects they are made of in their original size. Those drawings all connect at the same spot. This way there is a huge amount of combinations to try out with this publication. Every combination makes sense in some way, if those compound words are possible are the compound objects too?
